![]() There is also Gollum, but he voiced by Liam O'Brien here and not by Andy Serkis. ![]() Tallion is voiced by famous Troy Baker himself, while Alastair Duncan played Celebrimbor. Both Talion and Celebrimbor are tragic characters but they have very different personalities. So, concluding this review I want to say while the sequel, Shadow of War, does too much strange things in the terms of plot, Shadow of Mordor basically has no conflicts with canon. You basically can clear orcs strongholds in both stealth and open fight, not to say that combat system copies the one from Rocksteady's games about the Dark Knight of Gotham. But most closest analogue would be Batman Arkham Series. Upon its release this game was often compared to Assassin's Creed series and I must say it really reminds of Assassin's Creed sometimes. Strange that no one else came up with such idea earlier. The fact that even most average and simple orc may give you the final killing hit, when you are low on life already fighting with a lot of enemies, and then became a new boss, does feel original and unique. It's really an amazing concept and it does work in awesome way not just in theory but also in practice. Well, it's not counted to be canon, unfortunately, but it has very well-made gameplay formula with most famous its part being this famous Nemesis System. So, I was very glad to see Middle-Earth dilogy to be released and receiving major success in sales and recognition. In 2000s I only remember there two RTS games, Battle for Middle-Earth and Battle for Middle-Earth 2 and that would be it. But for some reason there were almost no really good AAA games set in this universe. Even that I enjoyed it a lot and was able to see all three films in theatres, I still think that 2 films would be enough. Then in 2010s there were The Hobbit's trilogy. Peter Jackson's phenomenal trilogy made LOTR super popular and well known all around the world, probably as popular and famous as even Star Wars. As as someone who was born in 1993, I was a teenager in 2000s and I grew up watching and re-watching The Lord of The Rings movies and was super obsessed by them back then.
